An incredible 2,000 mile bike adventure from the United Kingdom to Ukraine
For Ukrainian based charity Voices of Children
Ride with usStarting Monday 5th August 2024
Reaching Ukraine 19th August 2024
Dear fellow endurance cyclist,
We would like to invite you to join us on an incredible adventure as we Ride to Ukraine. We
are looking to bring together endurance cyclists from across the globe to take on this
challenge and make a difference. It’s a very personal journey for us, and we would love
for you to be part of it.
We’ll be riding 2,000 miles (3,200 km) between Sheffield in the UK (Ed’s home) and Ukraine.
Our goal is to raise as much money and awareness as possible for Ukrainian children affected
by the horrors of this war. We hope you can join our band of cyclists from across the world
in a show of support and solidarity.
If you are interested, please let us know so we can get you a more detailed itinerary. Also,
you may wish to extend this invitation to others.

Eastern Europe’s most iconic towns and cities. Overall, we have tried to design a safe,
friendly and fun route that is also cultural, educational and inspiring.
Feel free to ride the full route, join for a Stage or two, or just ride along for a couple of
days.
Our ride will take us to the Ukrainian border at Uzhhorod.
We will be riding in support of the children of Ukraine. We are proud to be partnering with Voices of Children,
a Ukrainian-based charitable foundation. Voices of Children are working to ensure Ukrainian children do not lose
their childhood or their smiles. No child should be left alone to deal with the experience of war.
Voices of Children provide psychosocial support, targeted humanitarian aid and advocate for children's
rights.

Adventurer and Ultra Endurance Cyclist
I have always had a passion for Exploring and love the outdoors. My home is Sheffield
in the UK - The Steel City, where I am lucky to have the Peak District on my doorstep.
You will find me out exploring the hills around my home; cycling, running, climbing or
swimming.
I first started endurance cycle racing back in 2018, when I took on the Trans Am Bike Race.
I loved the feeling of adventure and setting out into the unknown made me feel alive.
Cycling has taken me into the wilderness, experiencing incredible sights, meeting
amazing people and making friends for life. I have never looked back and continue
to explore and race my bike across the world.
When war broke out in Ukraine 2 years ago, I wanted to do something to try and help.
I have supported several families seeking refuge in the UK, and it was the best decision
I have ever made. My life has been enriched by sharing my home with each family,
but I have also been deeply moved by their experiences. I want to do more, so this
year I decided to team up with my good friend, Heath Ryan (Australian Endurance Cyclist),
and put together a cycle ride from my home in Sheffield all the way to Ukraine (2,500
miles).
The thought of setting out on this great adventure fills me with excitement and a sense
of purpose to make a difference.
Endurance Cyclist
Heath 'The Dark Knight' Ryan, a dual Canadian-Australian, lives in Melbourne Australia when
he
isn't riding his bike, Titanium Tom, in different corners of the world.
Heath's first ultra-endurance race was the Indian Pacific Wheel Race across Australia in
2017.
He then completed the first ever ‘triple crown’ of endurance cycling in 2018 by racing
across
three continents - Australia, America in the Trans Am, and Europe in the TCR - in the same
calendar
year.
Over the past 12 years Heath has ridden almost 200,000 km in 35 different countries. While
he now
focuses on researching and writing articles about advocacy and books about cycling, Heath is
coming
out of retirement to ride from the UK to Ukraine for the 'Voices of Children' charitable
foundation
and help raise awareness of the needs of children suffering the effects of the war in
Ukraine.
